Policies
Instructors
All Atlantis Aquatics instructors have received the highest level of American Red Cross CPR/First Aid training, and are all American Red Cross certified lifeguards. In addition it is our policy that all instructors hold two years of Early Childhood Experience and complete 40 hours of Learn to Swim Training. We are committed to providing your family with the same instructor for each lesson, however cannot guarantee this due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts.
Lesson Check-in
Parents are required to check in prior to their swim lesson with a parent signature.
Parent Supervision
All parents are responsible for the supervision of their children. They must stay throughout the duration of the lesson and during free swim.
Pool Use
There is no swimming before scheduled swim lessons. Swimmers may stay 10 minutes after their lesson for free swim only if space permits in the pool
Pool Closure
We strive to have the highest quality pool water at all times. Thus, we will close the pool if the chlorine and pH level are not commensurate with the skins natural level. In the case the pool must be closed at your registered time, you will be offered a make-up class at no fee.
Water Diapers
SWIMMERS THREE YEARS OLD AND UNDER MUST WEAR A SWIM DIAPER. A plastic diaper that seals around the legs and waist is the only acceptable form of diaper. You are no longer allowed to wear a disposable diaper underneath due to health code.
Swim Caps, Goggles and Fins
All children with hair long enough to cover their eyes are required to wear swim caps. All students in levels 5 and 6 must wear goggles. Goggles are not recommended for swimmers in level 1 + 2. Fins are recommended for levels 2-4 and are required for level 5 and above.
Discipline Policy
Due to the nature of our lesson, we enforce a “3 Strikes Rule” to maintain order and discipline in our lessons. This “rule” is a system that our instructors are trained to follow should a child refuse to follow directions. The first time a child does not follow directions, (s)he will receive a warning. The second time this occurs, (s)he will be asked to take time out of the lesson. The third time this occurs, (s)he will be asked to leave the lesson for that day.
Separation Anxiety Policy
For students who struggle with separation anxiety, the student will be required to complete a limited number of non-threatening tasks before the lesson is over. Parents are asked to remain at a distance in order to allow the instructor to work through the separation anxiety with the child.
Refunds/Cancellations
NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER THE LESSON START DATE. We only allow refunds anytime prior to your first class. (Any refunds are subject to a $15.00 transaction fee). Cancellations must be made 30 days in advance in writing by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
